BRYDEN WILLIAMS Australian Standard Campfire
Galvanaised steel fire piping, used fire sprinklers, HD video, mounted LCD monitor. 2mins (looped) 2022 Conservatory, Mt Victoria Manor
Australian Standard Campfire is a site intervention and sculptural installation based on an encounter between a river, a campfire and a fire sprinkler system. Each of these elements enter into a conversation to offer up potential new ways to consider the role of fire and water in the Australian landscape.
Bryden is an artist, art handler and picture framer working on Gundungurra and Wiradjuri land in present day Blue Mountains. His work is often site-engaged and tends to speculate on the aesthetic, abstract and ephemeral potential of material by-products and sustainable art making. By trade, Bryden specialises in handmade art display solutions through Mount Framing and is a highly skilled art handler and woodworker.
